Designation setup
The Designation setup routine lets you enter information on each designation that you would like available for assigning to gifts. A Designation must be assigned to a specific organization defined in GiftWrap.
To report the current information stored on one or more designations
1. Click Setup > Designation in the Menu Bar.
2. Click
3. Select the designation(s) on which to report, and then click OK .
Do the following, as needed:

To view or modify the information stored on a specific designation
1. Click Setup > Designation in the Menu Bar.
2. Double-click the row in the grid for the designation:
Enter or edit information in the Designation Information page as desired. There is help available on each field. See Notes below for the uses of designations in GiftWrap.
Click Add/Modify/Delete Remainder Beneficiary to review, modify, or delete information on the remainder beneficiary of gifts that have been assigned this designation. You can also review gifts and payments that have been formally associated with this remainder beneficiary (ordinarily, this association is created by Record Death when it causes a gift to terminate and the user confirms that gift proceeds should be assigned to the remainder beneficiary for the Designation).
3. Click to save your changes.
4. Click to close the Designation Information page.
To delete a specific designation (allowed only if no gifts are assigned to the designation)
1. Click Setup > Designation in the Menu Bar.
2. Double-click the row in the grid for the designation you want to delete.
3. Click .
4. Click Yes to confirm deletion of the designation.
To add a designation
1. Click Setup > Designation in the Menu Bar.
2. Click .
3. Enter the information about the designation. There is help available on each field.
4. Click when done.
5. Click to close the Designation Information page.
Notes:
The information you enter through Setup/Designation serves these purposes:
It creates a list of designation codes from which you can choose the designated charitable purpose of a gift. The designation code is entered in the Designation list box of the Purpose tab in the Gift Information window. A percentage is assigned to each designation so that a single gift can have multiple designations. The sum of all designation percentages for a gift must add up to 100%.
The designation is used to sort and select information in the Gifts by Designation report.
The Designation Code field is used on several reports to indicate the designation(s) of each gift.
Designation Remainder Beneficiary information enables designated portions of the remainder assets from terminated gifts to be assigned to a specific remainder beneficiary ((i.e., a specific organization)..
